We cut our empty miles by more than half
At Apex, sustainability started with the miles we were already driving. We brought deadhead (empty miles) down from 24% to about 9%, and we're cutting idle time next.
We work with Volvo and Samsara to track fuel and emissions across the fleet. We're also an EPA SmartWay partner and a Clean Freight Coalition member.

What we're doing
Renewable fuels with Volvo
Our Volvo trucks can run on HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) and biogas, which gives shippers lower-emission options on the same lanes.
B100 biodiesel ready
Our Volvo fleet is equipped for B100 biodiesel, which can cut CO₂ emissions by up to 70% compared to traditional diesel.

Renewable fuel on site
Our North Carolina yard has on-site vegetable-oil storage tanks, so trucks can fuel up with renewables before they leave.
